Privacy Policy

Gable is a service of Gladspace Media, LLC. We ask local companies to quote work on your home so you can compare prices without handing your phone number to five salespeople. That only works if the companies know as little about you as possible until you choose one. This page says exactly what we hold and exactly what they get.

What we collect when you ask for quotes

When you submit a request on our site, we collect:

• Your email address, so we can send you what comes back.
• Your ZIP code, and your street if you give us one.
• What the job is, how soon you need it, and details about the property such as the type of home, the number of bedrooms, rough square footage, and where you are seeing the problem.
• The parameters attached to the link you arrived on, if you came from an advert. That is how we know which advert paid for your visit.

We do not ask for your phone number and there is no field for it. Every property detail is optional. A request works without any of them, it just produces vaguer quotes.

What a contractor sees

We approach companies ourselves, by their own contact form or by email, and we do it in our name using our own contact details. A company you have not chosen receives:

• The street name, town and ZIP code. Never the house number.
• What the job is and how soon it is needed.
• The property details you gave, if you gave any.

They do not receive your name, your email address, your phone number or your house number. If you typed your full address, we keep the house number for you and remove it before anything goes out, so that when you do pick someone you are not asked to type it again.

When you choose a company, we pass on what that job needs, which will include your full address and a way to reach you. That is the point at which they become your contractor rather than a stranger with a price.

If you create an account

The rest of Gable, the video feed and the assistant, works without an account. Your browser is given an anonymous session the first time you visit so the app can remember what you have seen. It contains no personal information and is stored in your browser.

If you sign up with an email address, we additionally hold:

• Facts about your home you choose to tell the assistant, such as the year the roof was done or the size of the property.
• Problems you have logged, so the app can bring them up later.
• Your conversations with the assistant.

Calls

If you call a company through Gable, the call goes out from a Gable number rather than your own, so the company never receives your personal line and cannot call it back. We record that a call happened, which number it used and which company it reached. We do not record the audio of your calls.

Companies we rely on

We use a small number of services to run Gable. Each of them sees only what it needs to do its job.

• Supabase, for the database and accounts.
• Vercel, for hosting.
• Resend, for sending email.
• Meta and Google, for advertising and analytics, described below.
• Google Places, to find companies near your ZIP code.
• Anthropic, which provides the assistant and reads contractor contact forms so we can fill them in correctly. Your messages to the assistant are sent to Anthropic to produce a reply.
• Twilio, for the phone numbers and calls.
• YouTube, which serves the videos in the feed and sets its own cookies when a video plays.

We do not sell your information to data brokers, and no company pays us for access to it. The advertising and analytics services below do receive information about your visit, which is described plainly here so you can decide what to do about it.

Advertising and analytics

We run adverts to bring people to the site, and we need to know which ones work. Three things happen as a result.

• When you arrive from an advert, we read the campaign parameters on the link and store them with your request, so we know which advert paid for it.
• The Meta pixel tells Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, that a browser visited this site and whether it submitted a request. Meta receives your IP address and information about your browser, and may connect that to a Facebook or Instagram account. It uses this to measure our adverts and to build audiences for them. It does not receive the contents of your request.
• Google Analytics records how the site is used, such as which pages are visited and for how long, using cookies and your IP address.

In California and some other states, letting an advertising service receive information about your visit may count as sharing or selling personal information, whether or not any money changes hands. You can tell us to stop by emailing us, and we will exclude you. You can also turn most of it off in your own browser using its tracking protection or an ad blocker, and adjust what Meta does with your data in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.

Cookies

Your browser stores a session so the app remembers you between pages. The advertising and analytics services above set their own cookies, and YouTube sets cookies when a video plays. Blocking cookies will not stop you asking for quotes.

How long we keep things

We keep a quote request while the job is live and for as long as it is useful to you afterwards, so you can look back at what a job cost. Account information stays until you ask us to remove it.

Your choices

Email bids@gogable.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. There is no form to fill in and no account required to ask. Depending on where you live you may have a formal right to this, and we will not ask which category you fall into before doing it.

Once a company has your details because you chose them, that information is theirs as well as ours, and their own privacy policy applies to it. We cannot delete it on their behalf.

Children

Gable is for adults arranging work on a home. It is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change what we collect or what we share, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
